Our Team

Scott J. Menta, CFP®, CHFC®, CLU®

Since 1987 I’ve been helping people plan for their financial future. Attaining all of the major financial planning designations, has provided me with the proper perspectives for guiding people. I currently hold the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professional designation, Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. The strength of my approach is thorough and open conversations with my clients. The process begins with a discussion about values. Not goals, mind you, but values. Too often planners and other financial professionals discuss goals that people think they have or would like to have.  My philosophy is that by exploring what people want out of life, what they want for their children and grandchildren and ultimately their worldview, we can get at their core values. It’s then and only then that goals can be set.

The next step would be exploring options. All of them. Not just a few, not what is most common. All options should be brought to the table for complete analysis. There are benefits and trade-offs with each option. But by having already reached their core values, the decisions typically jump off the page.
